Animated video created for the mobile and Facebook game Golf Clash, developed and published by Playdemic. The initial aim was to launch the new title onto the Android and iPhone market, and gain fans through its unique gameplay features.

I researched the game heavily, playing multiple hours to learn of its special features and hooks, as well as capturing specific gameplay footage to best show off its appeal. I discussed directly with the developers themselves, areas they'd most like to emphasise.

My main role was to create a script & storyboard, to communicate the touchscreen interactive appeal of the game. The most effective solution being to implement UI and particle effects jumping out of the screen - breaking the fourth wall.

The animated videos were posted both on Facebook and as in-game advertisements, with the game itself going on to become a massive commercial and critic success. Winning the 2018 Bafta Best Mobile Game Award and TIGA Game of the Year Award.

As a continuation of the initial hugely successful launch campaign, Playdemic requested a follow-up video which would widen the appeal even further to mobile gamers that had still not downloaded the title. 

The goal was to place further emphasis on the depth within the game and social elements, with the advert focusing on the tournament and levelling up features. For this video, I took a very different approach of storyboard a linear and coherent narrative of 2 players competing with each other for a trophy.
